An authorisation hold is a temporary hold on funds on your debit or credit card when a purchase is made. It triggers what looks like a deduction of the full amount of your booking.
Once the booking is confirmed, the authorisation will be converted to a real charge and the amount will then be deducted from your payment account.
If your booking expires or is rejected, the authorisation hold may disappear or appear as a refund in your payment account. The release of the authorisation amount may take up to 7 business days, depending on the processing time of your bank.
